Agreement
By downloading or using Strago, you agree to these Terms of Use and to the Privacy Policy. If you don't agree, please don't use the app.
The service
Strago helps you scan products and shelf labels, keep track of the prices you've seen, compare a price with what you paid before and with prices other shoppers shared, manage a shopping budget and grocery list, and review completed trips. Product names and brands may come from Open Food Facts or UPCitemdb, or be read from a package photo you take. Nearby stores are suggested using Apple Maps.
Your account and data
Sharing prices and comparing stores needs a personal account, created with Sign in with Apple or a code sent to your email. You can delete it at any time in Settings. Your trips, budget and grocery list stay on your iPhone and aren't synchronized between devices. The Privacy Policy explains what is shared.
Prices and comparisons
Strago reads prices from shelf labels with your camera, and compares them with prices you scanned before and with prices other shoppers shared. Shared prices are reported by shoppers and can be outdated or wrong. A reading, a product match or a comparison can be wrong too. Always check the price on the shelf and at the checkout before relying on it.
Acceptable use
Don't misuse the app, report prices you know are false, try to access third-party services without authorization, interfere with the service, or use the app for anything unlawful.
Third-party services
Open Food Facts, UPCitemdb, Apple Maps, Anthropic (package photos) and Supabase (hosting) are provided by third parties. Their own terms and privacy policies apply to what they handle. Product records may be incomplete or inaccurate.
Disclaimer
Strago is provided "as is", without warranties of any kind, to the extent permitted by law.
Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Strago and its developers aren't liable for indirect, incidental or consequential damages arising from your use of the app. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under consumer protection laws that can't be waived.
Changes
We may update these terms when the app changes. The date above shows the latest version.
